Starting a blog has a lot more to it than people would think! A lot of people actually have no idea you can make money blogging. I was one of those people! But, as soon as I realized the potential of making money with my blog, I took full advantage!

Because I have had such a wonderful time learning to blog for profit, I decided to create an e-course to help people who know nothing about blogging, start a profitable blog! I found myself helping so many friends with starting their blog, that it was taking away from my own blog! So I created this course so that I can give people ALL of the great information in an organized manner.

First things first… Why should you start a blog?

Make money from home

This one is the most obvious, of course. Everyone wants to be able to make money from home, or better yet, anywhere in the world! This is especially true for moms. It’s not fun to have to leave your kids in daycare so you can go to work and make an extra couple hundred dollars a month (maybe) after paying for said daycare. I couldn’t do it, I couldn’t leave my daughter. And my husband’s job paid the bills (mostly). But, it sucks living paycheck to paycheck. There’s no room for fun, or putting money into savings, or paying off debt. So being able to stay home with your kids AND help support your family financially, is where it’s at!

Perfect Outlet

I don’t care who you are, life gets hard sometimes! And when it does, it’s great to have a healthy outlet. Blogging is the perfect outlet. It’s a great way to make new friends and socialize. It gives you something to be excited for. Nothing is more exciting than watching your income grow each month. It also gives you something to be proud of. When you start out with nothing, and you work hard, and end up with something that you made all on your own… It’s a great feeling. Lastly, it lets you share your passions with the world.

Helping people feels good

When you write a blog, you are writing to solve a problem that your target audience is having. You are helping people. And helping people feels good. The best is when someone comments on your post and says something like, “This post was so helpful. I’ve been struggling so bad with this and you made me feel like I wasn’t alone, and helped me think of ways I can overcome this.” I don’t think you realize how much you are helping people by writing a blog. There are people out there with the same struggles, the same passions, and they can really benefit from your input.

Here’s what you need to know before you start a profitable blog

It can take time to make money

Blogging is definitely not a get rich quick type of business. It takes time to write content, brand your blog, and get some page views coming in. But, if you’re willing to be committed to your blog, it WILL happen.

People often ask, how long until I will make money. Well, that is completely dependant on how much work you put into it. I know bloggers who have started making money in a couple of months after starting, and I know bloggers that’s taken years to start making a decent profit.

To make money quick, you need three things. One– you need passion. You need to be excited about your blog. Two– you need to be committed. You can’t give up if you don’t make money the first week. You’re building a business, it can take a little while. Three– you need the right tools. By tools, I really mean knowledge. One of my biggest mistakes was not knowing enough when I started. The best way to get all the information you need is to invest in courses. And don’t get me wrong, I invested! But I didn’t invest in the right things. For instance, I invested $200 in a Pinterest course. And I freaking KILL IT at Pinterest. I’m the Pinterest master. Not really, but I’m pretty good. But, I didn’t learn about other important things about starting my blog, and my blog suffered because of that.

That’s why I decided to make this course free, because I know how much it sucks to invest a ton of money, when there are cheaper ways of learning similar information. And that’s also why I tried to include information on ALL aspects of starting a blog, so you don’t have to miss out on any opportunities to grow your blog quick!

It costs money to make money

This is the biggest downfall of blogging. It has a start-up cost. But, it’s a VERY small startup cost compared to any other business you could think of starting.

The only two things you need to buy at the very beginning of starting a blog are a domain name and hosting. These two things are really cheap. My domain name costs me $15 a year. And you can get hosting from Siteground for as little as $3.95 a month. But, you have to pay for hosting for a year (or more if you choose) at a time. So you’re looking at between $50 to $100 maybe? That’s super cheap for starting your own business.
