What kind of FRIEND are you?

The other day I caught myself thinking about all of the wonderful friends I have in my life. I am so grateful for each and every one. I realized that it was odd that I could be so close with such a large variety of people with such different personalities. So I became inspired to write about the different types of friends that I have in my life; here they are!

The Original

Think back to your school days. This is the first true friend you had, and the only one that has lasted through everything life has thrown at you. This friendship is the kind that isn’t affected by busy schedules, or by distance. When you see each other after a long time of being apart, it’s as if nothing has changed. You never run out of things to talk about, and you always have a great time together. You’re connected in a way that no one can quite understand, and that’s just fine.

The Altar-Ego

Also know as; your other self. This person is the one you meet and think to yourself, “where have you been all my life?” You have similar interests, so there is never an issue with making decisions, or holding a conversation. They are the one you find yourself spending all of your time with, because they make your everyday life just a little bit better. They know exactly what you’re talking about every time you speak because they are actively involved in your life. It’s difficult to get sick of them, because they are just another version of you.

The Kid At Heart

Do you ever feel like life is too hard, like you want to go back to being care free like you were when you were a kid? The kid at heart is your go to friend for moments like these. They distract you from your worries, and lower your stress level just by being there with you. They make you laugh until you cry, and their only care in the world is whether or not they’re having fun… and sometimes we all need a little fun in our lives!

The Mama Bear

Mama Bear is who you go to when you need motivation. They will tell you exactly what needs to be done and why, they are the “responsible friend who’s all work and no play.” While that sounds like it wouldn’t be any fun, it might just be what you need to get through a rough patch. This person tries their hardest to make good decisions and be a leader and an example to everyone around them. So when you need advice, or even some help… talk to Mama Bear.

The Soulmate

This is the friend that turns out to be the love of your life. You start out with a connection unlike you’ve ever had with anyone, and it develops into something so intriguingly beautiful. Looking at them you think to yourself, I will love you until my heart stops. This relationship is the one that teaches you what true love is all about. You know that you can go to them humiliated and weak, and they will raise you up again using nothing but their unconditional love for you. They are your ally. For the rest of your life they will be there right beside you, catching you when you fall, and praising you when you succeed.
